For a “luxury” hotel, there was really nothing luxury about it. For the amount of money we paid, the property was incredibly outdated, and every little thing came with an upcharge. I’ve stayed at many true luxury hotels, and none of them charge $10 for a carton of water on top of already high room rates. It also felt like everything was designed to squeeze out more money — from overpriced basics to constant upsells. On our second day, housekeeping came in but only replaced the bath mat and face towels — no new body towels, no bed made, nothing else cleaned. Then, conveniently on the morning of our checkout, the alarm clock (which we never set) went off at 6:00 AM. Just two hours later, housekeeping was knocking on our door, looking surprised we were still there — even though nothing had been tended to the day before. Combine that with the multiple “fast checkout” emails I received, and it all felt like a clear attempt to rush guests out early. For the price and branding, this stay was a major disappointment. There was nothing about this experience that matched what I’d expect from a true luxury hotel.

I thought the staff was generally nice and hospitable and the room was really nice. However, it felt like a discount car rental spot where you are paying a certain amount and then they have all these hidden fees. The icing on the cake was the $10 bottles of water at the bedside. It made this place feel like a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's a cheap hotel that nickels and dimes disguised as a nice hotel. It is a shame. Otherwise we really enjoyed it and would be back. But I definitely won't be coming back.

When my credit card would not work the checkin staff member was not very helpful or assuring despite the very difficult situation I was in. She was not confrontational but also not very solution-focused. While it was my fault for forgetting my bank up payment options - feedback is that I would expect more collaboration for $750 per night on the race weekend.

Overall, hotel was nice, location was good, and service was great. Simona Eversley in particular was a standout. I left a few things in my room safe and she went above and beyond to locate and secure them quickly. Very helpful, professional, and kind.
