Overall great. Loved the hotel itself, but experience could have been better. Yes it is January and peak time post Christmas and yes Sydney was experiencing a heatwave, but hotel management should have the right to enforce some basic respectful behaviour to make the stay more enjoyable for other guests. The lifts were absolutely terrible but I understand that is temporary. That is fine, worst wait time was 12 minutes . Getting back to what was really bad and preventable was the behaviour that was enabled in the pool and the ‘executive lounge’. Pool not much can be done except for having a life guard to monitor all the large external pool equipment blocking water for others and staff monitoring unused chairs may be expensive so I won’t dwell on the pool, but the ‘ exec lounge’ def something needs to be actioned - yes people are bad mannered and this is not the responsibility or reflection on the hotel, but please put in measures to mitigate this bad behaviour. Perhaps appoint a staff member greeting guests and checking off suite numbers. Also, issue exec lounge ID bands at check-in. The room cards just get passed around . Please dont allow wet swimming wear into the lounge. Kids are fine to come but they must come with a carer they are to remain seated at all times. Kids were there without the parents. Enforce carers only policy to obtain food and drinks, not children. Children calling out to other children other across the room to ‘grab me some more ice and another drink.’ Really?! 10 year olds running not walking around and then helping themselves to the fridge on their way out of the lounge, loaded up with 5 bottles of sprite with them??? Not a nice experience for others. I really feel for your staff who have to deal with it. Breakfast was lovely and never an issue, so thank you for this!

Our experience at Swissôtel was terrible - in fact, we left about 10mins after arriving at our room. Our room was not ready for us at check in (5pm), even though check in is 3pm. That’s fine, things happen & we were happy to wait a little time for our room. We were given drink vouchers to compensate however the pool bar was shut so we would not be able to use them there. Seems strange on a 40 plus degree day. When were able to go to our room, there was only one lift working. We’d already waited over 5 mins for the lift & got into the lift which was almost at capacity. Two large groups then piled into the lift after us - I know this is not a management problem, however some guidance for people waiting to get into lifts would have been appreciated. I have no doubt we were so close to capacity I’m surprised the lift worked. Not a pleasant experience & one we dreaded when we were leaving the hotel 10mins later. When we arrived in our room our electricity was not working - imagine on a 40 degree day in Sydney with no electricity & no window to open. Not ideal, particularly having just gotten out of a packed, slow lift after travelling to the hotel & then waiting for our room. Our room wasn’t the cleanest of rooms - the glass table top looked like it hadn’t been wiped down for quite some time & the bathroom was not much better. The third & final strike for us was not having our pre ordered snacks etc available on arrival as per the advertised package. When I enquired about them, I was told they would not be available until later that evening. So we couldn’t use our drink vouchers at the pool, we hadn’t received our packages & our room wasn’t extremely hot. We decided it best to leave. We were in the hotel for all of 20mins I would imagine - the majority of that time waiting for our room & travelling to our level in a packed, slow lift. Given the hotel is part of the Accor group, and a group we stay with often, I am extremely surprised by how disappointing this hotel is. It’s certainly not a 5 star hotel - it’s 3 at best. It needs a lot of improvement. And unfortunately after reading Google reviews, it turns out we aren’t the first to have had the same experience we did. I won’t stay at this hotel again, nor will I recommend to any friends & family. A shame, because the location is great & the pictures online look lovely.

Bathrooms a little tired. Heavy Metal plate in front of tissues on wall fell on to my toe!

The stay was good, but the hotel was quite busy. It would appear that the “executive lounge” was a popular option with no room available to sit and enjoy a drink or bite to eat. The lifts were also busy, with long wait times on some occasions as one of the lifts was out of service. Otherwise I can’t fault the hotel, room or staff.
