Loved our stay. The room and service was awesome. I’m only docking a few points because there were times where it was next to almost impossible to get ahold by phone when we needed to ask about something. We gave up for waiting after an hour.

The hotel was lovely, the food was exceptional, the meeting spaces were beautiful. The staff (front desk, concierge, and housekeeping) are TOP NOTCH. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the first room I was in - one of the lamps didn't work and several of the outlets didn't work. The decor could use a refresh in the rooms, too! but that did NOT take away from a perfectly lovely experience overall.

I travelled to Chicago for the Chicago Marathon for the sixth or seventh time. I found the Swissotel a few visits ago and booked it because of its excellent location, river views and convenience to the start/finish area in Grant Park. That first visit pre-Covid was wonderful highlighted by the incredible suite we occupied with views of the river and the lake. Bernard Bilal was on hand to help us will any arrangements such as dinner plans, transportation, and suggestions for things to do. Since then we have tried to stay at Swissotel whenever we visit Chicago. Bernard's generous hospitality has elevated our experience each time.

I requested someone to come replace the batteries on the safety deposit box, no one ever came. i called for someone to pick up the tray and no one ever came. I asked for some extra checkout time and after a pause and all i was told not possible not even 10 minutes, i was nice and amicable and polite on my call. My brother on another room called after me and asked for extra time for checkout he was given 30 minutes.... why the different treatment, we are both not members of ALL Accor so thats not the reason.

For a hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago at the cost that it was, this was a disappointing stay. The thermostat in the rooms had no "cool" or "heat"; it was just temperature controlled. The sheets on the bed were scratchy and stiff and for some odd reason, had 4 layers: sheet, VERY THIN blanket, sheet, sheet. It turned cold during our stay (fall weather) so we had to ask for a comforter which made 5 layers. Shower leaked water outside leaving a pool of water that had to be soaked up after each shower. Bathroom sink was VERY slow but maintenance (thank you!) was quick to repair the issue. Other than that, it was a good sized room and the conference center was good but could use more signs as far as the floors in the elevator (e.g. Zurich is a big room, it should have been listed somewhere when choosing floors for the elevator). WARNING: Because the hotel is up on Wacker closer to the Lake, you do have to walk a bit to get to any transportation or food.
