The location is only thing that makes this hotel a proper Swissotel, other than that is just nah. One of the lift was broken down without informing in advance, it took at least 5-10mins waiting for a single ride (always full and slow). As a platinum member, this is the most crowded lounge I've ever been. Beer or any alcoholic beverage need to ask from a staff in which the queue was over 10 people - does not make any sense with 5-star hotel. We tried to order drinks at the bar while it was mostly empty (only two tables occupied). After being seated by the staff, we attempted to call them to take our order, but no one came. We waited for over 10 minutes and eventually left. Lastly, we requested for 30mins late check-out by handing the cards to front staff. He said "Yes, No problem" but did not extend the cards for us. This was quite disappointing given the hotel’s reputation and brand standard—Swissôtel should be better than this. I travel frequently and have stayed at many Accor properties and other hotels, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. The only positive aspect is the location.

Great location, facilities and service but the out of service lifts had a real impact on our stay. We were there for 3 nights and lost at least 2 hours over that time waiting for lifts which clouded the whole experience. The staff were all amazing in assisting with the service elevator however that needed to be called for and on several occasions the phone didn’t work by the elevator or we couldn’t find anyone around the lobby to assist as reception staff were all busy - there should have been a more proactive solution.

Booked this hotel as had stayed at the Singapore Swissotel which was excellent. The Sydney hotel currently has one lift out of order. It took me almost 20 minutes to leave the hotel one afternoon due to the numbers of people using them meaning I was late to an appointment. I wasn’t offered my welcome drink- nor told where I could redeem this. The rooms are older, fixtures and fittings could do with an update. I will be staying twice more at this hotel over the next month and I am seriously considering staying elsewhere next time. Although the location is good, it didn’t really justify the price of the fact the hotel hasn’t been updated for some time and the out of service lifts. I also believe I should have been upgraded to the higher room category which I don’t believe I was.

Our stay was disrupted by the continuous situation with the lifts being unserviceable and the lack of staff at check in and to move people around using the service lifts. This experience with the lifts had a negative impact on us and our experience. Management did not seem to appreciate the significance of the lifts being unserviceable. Overall you need to do better, this is supposed to be a high quality establishment.
