1. Street in front of the hotel stank of urine and the smell carried into the entryway and lobby 2. 1 lift was closed for retrofitting, which is acceptable. But of the 2 remaining lifts (both of which had already been upgraded), 1 broke down for half a day and the waiting time and queues for the lift were ridiculous. Why is a recently-upgraded lift breaking down? 3. Check-in process did not include anything for me to sign, and I was later called and told I had 'forgotten' to sign something on my check-in. I hadn't forgotten; I wasn't given anything to sign in the first place. 4. Room was badly designed, with the thermostat hiding behind the large flat-screen TV-- took ages to look for it. The wall-mounted showerhead is also directly facing the door of the shower cubicle, which isn't sealed-- this makes it difficult to shower without wetting the floor outside of the shower cubicle. 5. Badly dated rooms and furniture; very shabby-looking and unpleasant 6. Bedside table and electric sockets/charging ports only available on one side of the bed; a second person in the bed would not have anything on their side to charge their phones with, or to even place a glass of water. 7. On a positive note: the mattress was comfortable and housekeeping cleaned the room well For the price and Swissotel branding, I expected better. Would not stay here again or recommend it, despite its excellent location.

Check in was poor, as a first time visitor no directions were provided to location of lifts to rooms. No information regarding facilities on site provided. Room service was fast although really poor quality black angus striploin which was more like a cheap sizzling steak. Location is great and rooms spacious.
