Dolmabahce Palace
Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, is situated on the gardens, which once belonged to the palace. Dolmabahce Palace was the last residence of the Ottoman Sultans, and the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Famous for its Rococo Baroque architecture and glass chandeliers, the Palace is a short five minute walk from the hotel. Closed on Mondays and Thursdays.
Grand Bazaar
Only three miles / five kilometres from the hotel, one must experience the bargaining at this covered bazaar, with hundreds of vendors selling everything from pottery, silver and leather.
Saint Sophia Museum / Blue Mosque
Both are three miles / five kilometres from the hotel. St Sophia Museum is closed on Mondays.
