I have always wanted to stay at the Swissôtel since I was young. I admired the hotel’s unobstructed view overlooking Marina Bay, and I always told myself that one day, when I had the means and opportunity, I would stay there. That opportunity finally came when I managed to sign up for an ALL Accor membership and saw Swissôtel listed as one of the participating hotels. I booked the stay in advance as a surprise for my son’s 10th birthday. However, after the stay, I was left with mixed feelings. To be honest, I somewhat regret spending the money on it. I checked in on Friday night and was attended to by one of the staff members. Unfortunately, I did not get his name, and he did not introduce himself to me. I feel that the check-in experience could have been much better. Since he was aware that I was an ALL Accor member, I expected him to explain the benefits and entitlements that came with my membership. During the check-in process, I was having some difficulty transferring funds to my bank account. I believe this should have given him some time to explain the details of my stay, such as the parking charges, the required deposit even though I was paying the full room charges upfront, the breakfast arrangements, and the breakfast location. However, none of this was explained to me, and I had to ask about these details myself while I was still trying to resolve my payment issue. Even basic information, such as how to connect to the hotel Wi-Fi, was not explained to us during the check-in process. I had to figure this out myself after entering the room. I also did not feel that we were given much of a welcoming experience upon arrival. I noticed that some foreign guests appeared to receive a much warmer level of service, and this made me wonder if they would have a more positive impression of the hotel than I did. As a local guest, I was left wondering whether the unwelcome feeling I experienced was because I am Singaporean. I hope this was not the case, but that was honestly how the experience made me feel. On the second day, I had to approach the front desk again to clarify some doubts regarding my stay. I was attended to by Ms Hannah, who explained my queries clearly. She was professional, pleasant, and helpful. In my opinion, this was the kind of service and explanation that should have been provided during the initial check-in process. The room itself was good, and the only downside was that the shower head was leaking. However, this was a minor issue and did not bother us much during our stay. The breakfast at Asian Market Café was great. Although the queue was quite long when we arrived, we did not have to wait long before being seated. Overall, the hotel and facilities were good, but the check-in process left me with an unpleasant feeling. This was particularly disappointing because staying at Swissôtel had been something I had wanted to experience since I was young, and I had also booked this stay as a surprise for my son’s 10th birthday. Unfortunately, the check-in experience and the lack of information provided at the beginning affected my overall impression of the stay. The feeling of not being properly welcomed, especially as a local guest, really turned me off the experience. While I cannot say for certain whether this was related to me being Singaporean, that was honestly how I felt during the stay. Because of this experience, I would probably not return to Swissôtel in the future. I hope the hotel can take this feedback seriously, as a better welcome and a more informative check-in experience could have made a significant difference to what was meant to be a special stay for me and my son.

Excellent location, allows children into a special area of the lounge for evening cocktails and staff are very helpful and go out of their way to assist when they can. The major issue is the lifts, takes a very long time to get a lift to go out or return to the hotel and many of the time the lifts are then full and packed and uncomfortable. The lounge can get very busy at evening cocktails. Despite having ALL gold status which states free upgrade and late checkout, did not get an upgrade and had to push for late check out, unpleasant experience as with other hotel chains have not had such issues before. Also for newly renovated they have not installed international power outlets and if you do not have an adaptor it can be a struggle with devices.

Over crowded, very unorganized check in counter, no one is there to help, very bad service and feel like a 1-2-star hotel. This is the worst so called 5-star hotel we ever stayed and booked through our Amex Business Platinum cc, will not come back again.

Incredible experiences on the day. As it was my daughter’s birthday, the hotel provides essential needs for my daughter from bed to shower. Small act big helps
