The hotel is so well located- in the heart of the bustling Jing A district with malls, eateries, metro station, Jing A temple all just a short walk away. The rooms are well appointed and the mattress and bed is super comfortable. There was just one problem with the stay- as Gold members at Accor properties through out our stays we got complimentary breakfast for the two of us- at Sofitel and Pullman both. But here they gave us complimentary breakfast for just one of us on each of our 4 days. Despite our request to let both of us enjoy the breakfast twice instead of all four days they could not accommodate us- which was downright strange and inhospitable. In such a case you rather not offer complimentary services at all rather than give half a service.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it continues to be one of my favourite places to stay in the city. What keeps bringing me back isn't just the location or the facilities (both fantastic whether you are in Shanghai on business or pleasure), it's the consistency with which this hotel manages to deliver every time. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The Executive Lounge is another real highlight. The breakfast is excellent, the evening happy hour - superb. It is one of the best lounge experiences I have had in China. The team, however, is what make this hotel stand out. Tim at reception was exceptional as always, making check-in quick, friendly and effortless. A special thank you to Elaine Hu for her genuine willingness to help and for going the extra mile to assist. Thumbs up to Chris, Leticia, and the entire Executive Lounge team for their hospitality, attentive service and the care they showed towards special requests. I also want to recognise the gentlemen at the door - they worked super hard with welcoming and assisting with suitcases despite the scorching Shanghai heat in July. Thank you to everyone for another wonderful stay. I already look forward to my next visit!

I recently stayed at the Swissôtel Grand Shanghai, and it exceeded all my expectations. As an Accor Live Limitless member, I’ve stayed at many properties, but the hospitality here truly stands out. What made this stay so memorable: Prime Location: Situated right in the heart of Jing'an, the hotel is just steps away from the metro station, high-end shopping malls, and fantastic dining options. It made exploring Shanghai incredibly convenient. Superb Rooms: My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed with a perfect blend of modern comfort and functional elegance. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a busy day in the city. Outstanding Service: Every staff member I encountered—from the front desk during a seamless check-in to the concierge team—was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Fantastic Dining: The breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of both Western and local Chinese delicacies, all prepared to a very high standard. Final Verdict: Whether you are traveling for business or leisure, this hotel is a fantastic choice in Shanghai. The Swiss attention to detail combined with warm local hospitality makes it a true gem. I will definitely be returning on my next trip! Highly recommended!

Front desk staffs were mostly unfriendly and a certain trainee staff who responded to us like she was unhappy with her job. Service overall gave a bad taste to us. Concierge however was good and helped us follow up with our packages and constantly greeted us with a smile.
