Hotel staff were attentive from the moment we alighted from our taxi to the lobby. Felt very welcomed and treated special. Only downside was housekeeping missed to clean our room after our specific request, but no worries about it. Hotel gave us a wine and cake as our honeymoon gift :)

We chose the hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary as we decided to return to the first city of our honeymoon. We chose the hotel for it's perfect location, the Marina Bay view and the pools. After complaining about not being told in advance of the closure of the main pool, we were upgraded to a higher floor and offered 1 free breakfast, plus a small cake for our anniversary. The cake never materialised during the 9 night stay. The service from the staff was professional and courteous. The hotel itself does have a number of problems which would prevent us from returning in the future. The room, as spacious as it was, lacked a proper wardrobe, which is necessary for a longer stay. The room also had a number of problems. The motion detection light kept on turning itself on during the night. Both the clicking sound and the light itself were very disturbing. I ended up buying eye masks so that the light turning on during the night wouldn't disturb us. Another problem with the room, which is a hazard, is the door from the bathroom to the bedroom. It is not on the same level and has a slight ramp effect. When exiting the bathroom, with the slippers provided by the hotel, it makes for a slippery and treacherous exit. Indeed, at the beginning we did slip a few times, once actually causing me to fall. The last thing I would like to point out is the lobby area. For a hotel of such large standing there are not enough chairs to sit on comfortably whilst waiting for others. The few chairs that were there were often full with other guests of crew from airlines. The chairs around the big table often had guests curled up sleeping on them. Not a good look for a 5* hotel. The lobby area also lacks restroom facilities. There should be toilet facilities within the hotel itself, rather than being obliged to go into the shopping mall.
