ZURICH, Oct 2012

In time for the festive season, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, together with the Swiss textile manufacturer Jakob Schlaepfer, are to launch an elegant design pillow collection, which will be available as a limited edition from 01 December 2012 via the Online-Shop “Swissotel at home”.

With this particularly exclusive pillow collection, the two partners with Swiss roots will be celebrating the first year anniversary of their cooperation, which has focused to date mainly on Interior Design. For example, custom-made fine wallpapers, exclusively designed for Swissôtels by Jakob Schlaeper, have decorated the rooms in Swissôtel Métropole in Geneva and the Executive Lounge of the Swissôtel Nankai in Osaka, Japan for some time. Multiple new projects and renovations are currently planned. The new pillow collection incorporates
the designs and patterns of the jointly-completed projects and complements the silk scarves, which were created by Jakob Schlaepfer for Swissôtels and are available in Online-Shop.

Some 3000 new designs are created annually by the textile manufacturer Jakob Schlaepfer, which was founded in 1904 as a St. Gallen-based knitting mill. These distinguish themselves by their lively originality and quest for innovation. In addition to materials for Haute Couture and designers such as Chanel, Vivien Westwood and Marc Jacobs, curtains, wallpapers and other wall coverage materials have been produced since 2008 – partly by most modern industrial laser techniques, but partly still using extravagant needlework, by which punched folia, floral ribbons or sequins are fastidiously and individually attached by hand.
