Evening of Liberty

The Evening of Liberty brings out thousands of citizens on the night of 10th August, the anniversary of the first shouts for independence from Spain. The principal plazas, theatres, museums, churches, & cultural centres fill with people and activity to commemorate Quito’s struggle for independence.

Quito Fest

QuitoFest, an international festival of independent music that began in Quito, constitutes the largest independent event for young Ecuadorians anywhere in the country. Days of concerts and presentations by local and international bands fill Itchimbia Park.
