Swissotel Circle Terms & Conditions

Swissôtel Circle Program Overview 

  1. Swissôtel Circle membership is for individual membership only. The membership and associated benefits are for the sole use of that member, membership is non-transferable. Memberships cannot be shared by more than one person, or combined with other memberships. Membership in Swissôtel Circle is unavailable to corporations, associations and groups.
  2. Membership to Swissôtel Circle is free of charge and can be applied either online at www.swissotelcircle.com or at any Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts.
  3. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to add, modify or delete benefits or tier-level qualifications at its sole discretion, and without notice.
  4. Members are required to update Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts (Swissôtel Circle) with any changes to personal information that could affect their membership.
  5. The qualifying period to achieve room nights for each tier is based on a rolling calendar year.
  6. It is the member’s responsibility to report a lost or stolen credit card or membership card.
  7. Swissôtel Hotels & Resort reserves the right to request a member’s membership card, along with photo identification, at any time during their stay.
  8. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has the right to restrict benefits and discontinue a member’s profile.
  9. Members are required to provide their Swissôtel Circle number at time of reservation. Members who do not know their Swissôtel Circle number at time of reservation will be requested to provide an additional piece of information. At check-in, members may be required to provide their Swissôtel Circle number and photo identification.
  10. Members within the Elevà and Zenit tiers who do not make the necessary criteria will be downgraded to the appropriate tier level.
  11. Rewards and benefits received as a member of Swissôtel Circle are personal and cannot be transferred (unless otherwise indicated). All entitlements shall lapse in the event that it is not claimed, redeemed or used prior to the expiry of the reward or of the membership.

 

Earning Room Night Credit 

  1. To receive room night credit towards status, a member must be a registered guest of the hotel and stay overnight. Room night credits and benefits of the program can only be applied to the individual member who enrolled in the Swissôtel Circle program and that individual member who is a registered guest of a Swissôtel hotel or resort.
  2. Members must reserve a room in their name, provide their Swissôtel Circle number and stay overnight. When a member books multiple rooms, only the room occupied by the member will be counted as room night credit towards the member status.
  3. Room nights spent prior to enrolment cannot be counted or credited towards membership status.
  4. A member may go as far back as 24 months to request room night credit for missing stays, providing that he/she was a member at time of the stay.
  5. Swissôtel Circle will not grant tier status based on performance or status in other hotel loyalty programs.
  6. Room night credit for Swissôtel Circle is for individual travel only. Only one Swissôtel Circle member will receive room night credit, regardless of the number of members in the room.
  7. Room night credit will only be given after a qualified stay has been completed. The room nights will be credited as one transaction and cannot be separated for any reason.
  8. To receive room night credit, the reservation must be booked on qualifying rates. Qualifying room rates are determined by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, and may be deemed non-qualifying at any time, without prior notice. Examples of non-qualifying room nights under this programme include: 
    • Room nights in conjunction with airline and / or travel industry discounts
    • Room nights of tour groups
    • Room nights of airline crew members paid by the airline
    • Room nights awarded based on frequent flyer programmes, and / or on bonus miles granted as remuneration in kind based on barter, etc.
    • Room nights redeemed using vouchers, complimentary room nights or Award room nights
    • Room nights on a permanent or residential stay rate (over 30 days)
    • Room nights booked through a tour operator, online travel channel or other online travel agent channel including, without limitation, booking.com, ctrip.com, elong.com, expedia.com, hotwire.com, hrs.com, lastminute.com, orbitz.com and  travelocity.com.
    • Room nights on Friends & Family rate

 

Swissôtel Circle Inizia      

  1. Members enrolling into Swissôtel Circle will receive Inizia online status and will receive a printable membership card by e-mail, at the e-mail address provided by the member at time of enrolment.
  2. Swissôtel Circle Inizia Lifetime membership will be awarded to members who complete 5 room nights within a 12-month rolling calendar period, at which time a plastic membership card will be sent at the address in the member’s profile.
  3. Members qualify for Inizia Lifetime membership upon meeting 5 room nights during a 12-month rolling calendar period. 

 

Swissôtel Circle Elevà       

  1. Swissôtel Circle Elevà membership will be awarded to members who complete 20 room nights within a 12-month rolling calendar period.
  2. Membership to Swissôtel Circle Elevà is subject to renewal every 24 months and is valid until the date imprinted on the membership card.
  3. To re-qualify, members will need to complete 20 room nights within a 12-month rolling calendar period within the 2 years of Elevà membership.
  4. In case of requalification, a new Elevà membership card will be sent to the member at the end of the current card’s validity.
  5. In case of non-requalification, a new Inizia membership card will be sent to the member at the end of the current card’s validity.
  6. Room nights completed on a qualifying rate at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Raffles Hotels & Resorts will be counted towards membership status.  

 

Swissôtel Circle Zenit  

  1. Swissôtel Circle Zenit membership will be awarded to members who complete 60 room nights in 2 or more Swissôtel locations within a 12-month rolling calendar period.
  2. Swissôtel Circle Zenit membership is subject to renewal every 24 months and is valid until the date imprinted on the membership card.
  3. To re-qualify, members will need to complete 60 room nights in 2 or more Swissôtel locations within a 12-month rolling calendar period within the 2 years of Elevà membership.
  4. In case of requalification, a new Zenit membership card will be sent to the member at the end of the current card’s validity.
  5. In case of non-requalification, a new membership card will be sent to the member at the end of the current card’s validity, reflecting the member’s new level.

 

Swissôtel Circle Awards & Benefits 

  1. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to add, modify or delete tier level awards and benefits and at its sole discretion, with or without notice.
  2. Swissôtel Circle benefits and awards may be subject to income or other taxes. Members of Swissôtel Circle will be responsible for paying all such taxes and for making all applicable disclosures. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts will not be liable for any tax liability, duty or other charges in connection with the issuance of Membership benefits or awards. 

 

Awards:

  1. Redemption of the awards is subject to availability at hotels at time of booking
  2. Redemption of Awards must be agreed at the time of making reservation
  3. All redemptions must be booked and completed before the award expiry date.
  4. Awards are valid for 1 year from date of issue
  5. Awards are transferable, unless otherwise indicated
  6. Awards are not exchangeable for cash
  7. Awards cannot be redeemed in conjunction with other promotional offers or special discount programmes
  8. Advantage Awards:
    • After every five room-nights transacted at qualifying rates, members who have been awarded Swissôtel Circle Inizia Lifetime or Elevà status will be issued an Advantage Award.
    • The maximum number of Advantage Awards that can be earned in a rolling 12-month period is 4.
    • Each Advantage Award entitles the member to one of the following:
      • A complimentary room upgrade for 2 consecutive nights during one stay, or
      • 2 complimentary breakfasts per stay
        (either 1 breakfast for 2 people or two breakfasts for one person)
  9. Premier Awards:
    • After every ten room-nights transacted at qualifying rates, members who have been awarded Swissôtel Elevà or Zenit status will be issued a Premier Award.
    • The maximum number of Premier Awards that can be earned in a rolling 12-month period is 4.
    • Premier Awards may be redeemed for one of the following:
      • One complimentary room night at any Swissôtel worldwide
      • One three-course dinner for two with a bottle of House wine in any participating Swissôtel restaurants, or in-room dining options
  10. Zenit Awards:
    • After every twenty room-nights transacted at qualifying rates, members who have been awarded Zenit status will be issued a Zenit Award.
    • Zenit Awards may be redeemed for a complimentary 2 night stay over a weekend in a Suite at any Swissôtel Worldwide (Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday).  

 

Benefits: 

  1. Benefits received as a member of Swissôtel Circle are personal and cannot be transferred (unless otherwise indicated). All entitlements shall lapse in the event that it is not claimed, redeemed or used prior to the expiry of the reward or of the membership.
  2. Benefits and services are extended to members associated to their membership level (Inizia, Elevà, Zenit). For a full updated list of benefits by membership level, please visit www.swissotelcircle.com
  3. Certain benefits are subject to availability and may not be available at certain locations during certain times. Restrictions and blackout dates may apply.
  4. Free Access to Spa & Sport Facilities:
    • Applicable at selected hotels only (for a list of hotels, please click HERE)
    • Member has to be a registered guest at the hotel
    • Swissôtel Hotels & Resort reserves the right to request a member’s membership card before granting benefit
    • Benefit will be extended to one additional guest sharing the member’s room
  5.  20% discount on treatments at selected Spa and Sports Facilities:
    • Applicable at selected hotels only (for a list of hotels, please click HERE)
    • Available to Elevà and Zenit members only
    • Member has to be a registered guest at the hotel
    • Swissôtel Hotels & Resort reserves the right to request a member’s membership card before granting benefit
    • Benefit will be extended to one additional guest sharing the member’s room
    • Discount cannot be combined with other offers or special promotions
  6. Free internet access during your stay:
    • To benefit from this offer, guest will need to be enrolled into the Swissôtel Circle Loyalty Program and provide a valid membership number at time of check-in
    • Internet consumed by the Swissôtel Circle member on a device owned by the member is free of charge on the hotel grounds and facilities (including but not limited to the room, business centre, lobby, executive lounge)
    • Charges for Internet consumed on a hotel-owned device (e.g. in the lounge, business centre, etc) is at the discretion of the hotel
    • Quality and specifications (e.g. Wi-Fi) of the internet connection is subject to availability in the individual hotel and hotel location. In hotels that offer 2-tiered connection, following connection type will be offered for such members:
    • Inizia members will receive complimentary Business Internet Access. This type of basic access is best used for browsing the internet, e-mailing, messaging and social networking
    • Elevà & Zenit members will receive complimentary Premium Business Internet Access. This type of upgraded access is best used for large files upload/download, video streaming, online games and entertainment
    • The rate applied to upgrade the connection type from Business Internet Access to Business Premium Internet Access is at the discretion of the hotel
    • Each Swissôtel will strive to provide best possible connection, depending on usage and technical installation at the hotel
    • No claim shall be made by the member for connection interruptions, connection speed, lack of band-width and / or problems issuing thereof
    • The member is solely responsible for any content uploaded or downloaded on or from the member’s own device
    • For more information about the terms of use of the Internet, consult the Terms and Conditions page at your hotel before connecting (you will have to accept the Terms & Conditions before being able to use the Internet)
  7. 48-Hour Guaranteed Room Availability:
    • Room type for the 48-hours Guaranteed Room Availability is subject to availability at times of reservation
    • Standard cancellation and no-show terms and conditions apply, as defined by each individual hotel
    • Benefit is applicable for one room booked under the member’s name
    • Black-out dates may apply. For more information about the black-out dates at each individual Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, please visit www.swissotelcircle.com
  8. Early Check in / Late Check-out:
    • Benefit is subject to availability and requires notification at the front desk
    • Standard early check-in is 11am
    • Standard late check-out is 3pm
  9. Complimentary Daily Breakfast:
    • Members registered as guests at the hotel enjoy complimentary breakfast daily, including one guest sharing the room
    • Complimentary breakfast can be enjoyed at any hotel outlet offering breakfast or in-room without any additional charges
    • Members cannot invite Swissôtel Circle Inizia members or non-members not sharing the room or outside customers to a free breakfast
    • Exceptions apply if the Swissôtel Circle member uses an Advantage Award – in this case, the member doesn’t need to have stayed at the hotel and can invite one guest
  10. Swiss Executive Club lounge access:
    • The access to the hotel’s executive or club lounge is free to the member staying at the hotel and a guest sharing the room, including all benefits and services offered in the lounge to paying customers, at regular designated operating hours
    • Members cannot invite Swissôtel Circle Inizia members or non-members not sharing the room or outside customers to the lounge free-of-charge.
    • Members cannot access the lounge free-of-charge if they are not residing at the hotel at the time of visit
    • The hotel reserves the right to restrict access to the Executive Club Lounge in case the lounge is full, the lounge is booked for a private event, the member’s behaviour is deemed not appropriate or disturbing to other guests, the member’s attire does not comply to the lounge’s dress code regulation
  11. Free Upgrades:
    • Subject to availability during the week
    • Member is upgraded free-of-charge to the next available room category on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night
  12. Partner Card:
    • A partner is defined as one person who is living at the same household as the main cardholder
    • In order for a partner card to be issued, the address on both the Zenit member and partner’s profile must match and be their home address
    • The Partner card is valid until the date imprinted on the membership card and is subject to renewal every 24 months as part of the Swissôtel Circle Zenit tier review
    • Should the main Swissôtel Circle Zenit member be downgraded, the Partner Card will not be reissued
    • Should a primary Zenit member and their Partner share accommodations, only the primary Zenit member (not the Partner) will receive the room night credit.
  13. Airline Miles:
    • Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts may feature from time to time a promotion in combination with partners such as airlines, credit card companies, car rental etc. that offer benefits uniquely in combination with a membership in the Swissôtel Circle programme
    • Airline miles can be accrued by members staying on qualified rates, in the amount pre-defined by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts
    • Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is not responsible, and assumes no liability, for changes or discontinuation of partner products and/or services, which may affect the Swissôtel Circle program
    • In case two or more members share one room, only one member per room will be credited airline miles
    • An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights spent at a participating Swissôtel location, regardless of the number of check-ins and check-outs. 

 

Update Your Information or Terminate Your Membership 

  1. Please contact us at circle@swissotel.com or write to Swissôtel Circle, c/o Fairmont-Raffles Hotels International Service Centre, 2081 Main Street, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada E1E 1J2.
  2. You may advise the front desk at one of our hotels & resorts if you would like to make changes to your profile. You can also update your profile at www.swissotelcircle.com 

 

General Terms & Conditions: 

  1. Membership into the program is complimentary and is available to individuals residing in countries that legally permit participation in frequent-stay programs. Membership in, and application for, Swissôtel Circle is void if prohibited by law in the country of the member or applicant’s domicile.
  2. Membership in Swissôtel Circle is available to qualifying individuals of legal age who demonstrate sufficient room nights at participating properties.
  3. Swissôtel Circle program membership and benefits are offered at the sole discretion of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts.
  4. Colleagues of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and any other of its affiliates are eligible to participate in the Swissôtel Circle, but they will not receive room night credit towards Elevà or Zenit status or any benefits of the program.
  5. Swissôtel Circle has no predetermined termination date and may continue until, at any time, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts decides to terminate Swissôtel Circle, with or without notice. Members will have time from the date Swissôtel Circle is terminated to redeem an award until the expiry date indicated on each individual award.
  6. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to add, modify, delete or otherwise change the Swissôtel Circle programme, rules and regulations, terms and conditions, procedures, awards and promotions / conditions, offers, awards or award levels at any time without notice and without prior consent of members or any liability to compensate or account to members whatsoever. This means that Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts may make changes that affect, but are not limited to, travel partner affiliations, rules and procedures for use of benefits, continued availability of awards, black-out dates, room availability, benefit type and the features of special offers.
  7. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to discontinue Swissôtel Circle membership for any member who appears to be using the Swissôtel Circle program in a manner inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions, or the intent to abuse of the Swissôtel Circle program or any one of the Swissôtel Circle program benefits offered, including, but not limited to, award redemption or use. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts also reserves the right to discontinue membership for any member, who, as deemed by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, engages in unruly behaviour or conduct or who acts in a manner inconsistent with local or federal laws, statutes or ordinances.
  8. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to revoke or suspend Swissôtel Circle membership based on unsettled accounts, NSF checks or a discrepancy with Swissôtel Circle memberships until accounts have been settled or the issue has been resolved.
  9. Discontinued membership may result in the cancellation of benefits and privileges. In addition to discontinuance of the Swissôtel Circle program, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts shall have the right to take appropriate administrative and/or legal action, including criminal prosecution, as it deems necessary in its sole discretion.
  10. All interpretations of Swissôtel Circle Terms and Conditions shall be at the sole discretion of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts
  11. Each Swissôtel Circle member is responsible for advising Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts of any address changes or change of credit card information. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is authorized to bill any changed incurred by the member at Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, or participating hotels, to any credit card number that the member provides.
  12. Specific Swissôtel Circle benefits and services have been established for all members, however, benefits and services offered by participating hotels may vary.
  13. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is not responsible, and assumes no liability, for changes or discontinuation of partner products or services, which may affect the Swissôtel Circle program.
  14. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to limit membership benefits, airline miles and room night credit to qualifying room rates. Qualifying room rates are determined by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, and may be deemed non-qualifying at any time, without prior notice. See above for an example of non-qualified room rates.
  15. Neither Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts nor Swissôtel Circle is responsible for requests or correspondence lost in the mail. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is not responsible for, and reserves the right to correct, any pricing or typographical errors, errors of description, or errors regarding participating properties and partners.
  16. It is the responsibility of the member to report any lost or stolen membership or credit cards to the Swissôtel Circle loyalty services team at circle@swissotel.com immediately to avoid unauthorized use of the card. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is not responsible for any charges incurred as a result of a lost or stolen membership card, unless the loss has been reported to Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts.
  17. Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts provides the Swissôtel Circle program with these and other materials, other services and products “as is”, and, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, expressly disclaims any warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to warranties of merchantability, design, accuracy, capability, sufficiency, suitability, capacity, completeness or availability. The member agrees that Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts does not represent, warrant or guarantee that the Swissôtel Circle program or any such other products and services will be uninterrupted, without omissions or error free or that defects will be corrected or changes implemented. Under no circumstances shall Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts be held liable for, including, but not limited to, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of Swissôtel Circle or any other products and services, even if Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts or a Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts representative has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages related to such matters, therefore, such exclusions may not apply. In the event that Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is held liable for any damages related to such matters, the member’s sole and exclusive remedy will be limited to reimbursement for services or products paid by the member to the entity held liable which were provided by such entity. The member hereby waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to such matters in any forum beyond two years after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based.
